Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the GaltIoT platform and related services provided by The High Order Bit, LLC ("GaltIoT," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Platform Description
GaltIoT provides an industrial IoT edge computing platform for device management, telemetry collection, and real-time monitoring. The platform includes edge computing software deployed to local devices, cloud infrastructure for data management, and notification services including SMS text message alerts.
2. Account and Access
Access to the GaltIoT platform requires account registration. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the platform only for its intended purpose of IoT device management and monitoring. You agree not to:
- Use the platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to platform systems or other users' data.
- Interfere with or disrupt the platform's operation or infrastructure.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the platform software.
SMS Text Message Terms
By providing your phone number and consenting to receive SMS notifications during platform setup, you agree to the following terms regarding text message communications:
- Content: You will receive SMS messages containing critical platform alerts, including device health warnings, system outage notifications, component failure alerts, and security notifications.
- Frequency: Message frequency varies based on system events. Under normal operation, you can expect fewer than 100 messages per month. During critical events, message frequency may temporarily increase.
- Consent: Your consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of purchasing or using the GaltIoT platform. You may use the platform without SMS notifications enabled.
- Opt-Out: You may opt out of SMS notifications at any time by replying STOP to any message. After opting out, you will receive a single confirmation message. You will no longer receive SMS alerts, but other notification channels (email, in-platform) will remain active.
- Help: For assistance with SMS messages, reply HELP to any message or email galtnroark@thehighorderbit.com.
- Costs: Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. GaltIoT does not charge for SMS messages, but your carrier may.
- Carriers: SMS service is available on major US carriers including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and others. Carrier support is not guaranteed and delivery may be affected by network conditions.
- Privacy: Your phone number is used exclusively for delivering platform alerts and is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing purposes. See our Privacy Policy for details.
4. Intellectual Property
The GaltIoT platform, including all software, documentation, and related materials, is the property of The High Order Bit, LLC and is protected by intellectual property laws. Your use of the platform does not grant you any ownership rights in the platform or its components.
5. Data and Telemetry
You retain ownership of all device telemetry data collected through the platform. We process and store this data solely for the purpose of providing platform services. Our handling of your data is described in our Privacy Policy.
6. Service Availability
We strive to maintain high availability of the GaltIoT platform but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Edge computing components operate locally and are designed to function independently of cloud connectivity. We may perform scheduled maintenance with advance notice.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, GaltIoT shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to loss of data, device damage, or business interruption.
8. Modifications to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify active users of material changes via email or platform notification. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
